I like resources which are visual and can be used on different levels. I've been teaching for a long time and relish the challenge of helping others learn.

Series of slides which ask students to write a tweet for a real historical character. Clearly transferable to fictional. Works well with all age groups and could be tweeted to a class hash tag ?

Sequel to Weird Trees and similes. Adaptable and, hopefully inspirational. Worksheet not included but would be useful. Extension activities?

Lesson examines the purpose of toys and offers a number of different tasks designed to get students to reflect on why we have toys. Adaptable and certainly relevant for the coming festival on Dec. 25 (UK). worksheet could be added.

I'm putting this out there again (Romeo/Juliet) because it really engages the student. It also allows you to assess empathy with characters. Students imagine guiding the character around their own world and explain their choices. Leads into essay answering and consolidates understanding of the issues between the characters.
